   I had written the below review earlier
   1. Build quality is good
   2. Food grade steel
   3. Welding spots viable which might create problems for future
   I was forced to review it poorly, as on the first day the lid holder broke off with no pressure. We have not dropped, when it arrived it was perfect. I seriously doubt the build quilty now.

   Like the compactness and still Idli made are of normal size. Product is easy to use and handy and occupies very little space in the kitchen

   The product advertised was of brand Pigeon, made of high grade steel, but the product supplied is so flimsy that you can cut your finger if not careful. Cheap imitation by the supplier, doesn’t seem to be from a brand like pigeon.

   Pros: can be used on a gas stove as well as induction stove. Handle provided to lift the idli mould out of the vessel
   Cons:
   size of idlis is small. Not suitable for families. You will need to make multiple sets
   Lid handle gets hot and difficult to remove cover. Ideally should have been heat resistant plastic
   Lid pops up when making idlis towards the end of preparation.
   Due to poor design. Idli batter sticks to the stand part of the mould since it overlaps with the placement of idli indentations. See photo.
   Would not recommend this product due to poor design. You do not need rocket science to design a idli maker.

   If someone is from South India or those who are used to authentic idlis better stay away from this item. It has very shallow cavities making the idlis very thin, again the distance between two plates are very less making it stick to the plate on the top. Again one major drawback is, the design is such that the plates are so unstable it slides on its sides when start pouring the dough on cavities one after another, have to hold the plate while pouring it else one will end up in a mess of pilfering dough around the corners. Overall disappointed on this purchase, design and model. Hope the manufactures listen to customer feedback!
